They're known as classic American cars since they still contain components manufactured before 1959, after which the US imposed an embargo on exporting car parts and accessories to Cuba. Many of these cars are repurposed by Cuban mechanics with makeshift parts, making each vehicle a one-of-a-kind work of art. When you see cars in Havana, it's impossible not to be impressed by their beauty and ingenuity!
